FRISCO, Texas – FC Dallas midfielder Thiago Santos was included in Major League Soccer’s first Team of the Week, after his standout performance against Philadelphia Union in Saturday’s 2-0 victory.
Santos, who made his FC Dallas and MLS debut, went the full 90 and displayed his physical prowess throughout the contest, as he, Tanner Tessmann and Jesús Ferreira helped keep Philadelphia’s midfield quiet for most of the night.
In the second half, Santos nearly opened his scoring account, but put his effort into the side netting. After a long, box-to-box run forward, Santos got on the end of a Reggie Cannon pass and unleashed his strike from a tough angle, just missing out on a debut goal.
