The FCD U-17s entered the tournament as the No. 2 side in the nation, opening the tournament by beating No.11 Sacramento Republic 3-0, thanks to goals from Johan Gomez, Beni Redzic, and Tanner Tessman.
In the marquee matchup against the No. 1 team in the nation, the New York Red Bulls, Dallas came out victorious with forward Redzic scoring for a second straight match, and Ricardo Pepe scoring a brace, helping their team come away with a 3-0 result.
On Monday, the U-17 side capped off the tournament in the last match of their age group, a 2-1 loss against New York City FC on a stoppage time penalty kick.
The U-19 team entered the Showcase ranked No. 24 and was pitted right off the bat against the No. 2 team in the nation, Pateadores FC, who were undefeated in DA regular season play through the opening months. Dallas came out strong getting ahead in the 23rd minute on a goal from Chrisopher Richards, before Pateadores’ leveled the score before half. However, it was Dallas’ Roberts that had the final say, scoring at the 70-minute mark to help his side come away with an impressive 2-1 result.
Building off their momentum, the U-19s yet again came out with an upset result, this time beating the No.3-ranked Vancouver Whitecaps 2-0, with goals from Edwin Cerillo and Brayan Padilla.
Dallas' oldest team closed the Winter Showcase against the 37th-ranked LA Galaxy, losing 3-2 in a thrilling contest. Dallas started the match on the wrong foot, putting one in their own net before the Galaxy doubled their lead later in the first half. Roberts scored twice in the span of 10 minutes to level the score, but it was Galaxy that had the final say putting the sword to Dallas in the final match of their group.
