FRISCO, Texas – The FC Dallas Academy teams returned to league play last weekend after participating in Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXIII throughout the first week of April. The teams combined to shutout their Texans SC Houston counterparts 9-0 last Sunday at the FC Dallas Stadium Complex. The Pre Academy teams were also scheduled to face Texans, but their matches were cancelled due to weather.

FC Dallas U-18s: 6
Texans SC Houston: 0
The U-18s posted their second straight shutout on Sunday, defeating Texans SC Houston 6-0. Jose De La Tejera continued his recent run of good form, scoring in the 16th and 26th minutes to bring his goal total to double digits on the season. After that, three FC Dallas players scored their firsts of the season. Jia Jie Zhuang got on the board in the 35th minutes, and then bagged a brace of his own five minutes into the second half. Ricardo Mejia scored his first of the year in the 85th minute and developmental player Jonathan Camarena scored FCD's final goal in the 89th minute.
The win solidified the U-18's hold on first place in the Texas Division. With an overall record of 20-2-3, FC Dallas sits 16 points ahead of second place Solar Chelsea SC.
FC Dallas U-16s: 3
Texans SC Houston: 0
The U-16s also posted their second straight shutout last weekend, handing Texans SC Houston a 3-0 loss. The first goal of that match was scored in the third minute by Aaron Meyer, who recently rejoined the squad from the U.S. U-17 Residency program in Bradenton, Florida. The 1-0 scoreline held until the 60th minute, when Alberto Galvan scored his fifth of the season. Kellyn Acosta rounded out the scoring with FCD's third goal in the 75th minute.
The win allowed the U-16s to hold on to second place in the Texas Division and maintain pace with the first place Dallas Texans, who hold a 10-point lead over FC Dallas.
Up Next: vs. Solar Chelsea SC
The FC Dallas Academy teams will host Solar Chelsea SC at the FC Dallas Stadium Complex this Saturday. The two clubs last met in December when the U-18s posted a 4-0 shutout and the U-16s had to settle for a 2-2 draw. Solar's U-18s are in second place in the Texas Division, 16 points behind FCD, and the U-16s are tied with FCD at 33 points, but remain one spot behind FC Dallas based on goal-differential.
