Work Ethic


Maurer did not make his MLS debut until he was 29 years old. Since being drafted in 2011, he has had stints in the PDL, NASL and even a year playing in the Chilean Primera División.

Maurer has saved 29 of the 39 shots he has faced this season. His 74.4 percent save percentage is tied for the second highest in the league among goalies with dougle-digit starts.

Maurer is the all-time record holder in minutes at the University of South Carolina and his 28 shutouts are a team record. As a member of the New York Cosmos, he was on the NASL’s Best XI in 2014 and won a title with the team in 2015.
