FRISCO — 2018 was FC Dallas defender Reggie Cannon’s breakout season, which saw him start every match he played in and becoming one of FCD’s most reliabale players on the roster. 2019 could be an even bigger step up for him as he looks to make his first career All-Star appearance.
Here are three reasons to vote for one of Dallas’ brightest stars.
Young and Hungry
Cannon’s 2018 campaign was so successful that he was listed on MLS’ 22 Under 22 list — firmly within the top 10 of the list at 8. A player that can stay back or make a run down the wing for attack support, Cannon has a rare kind of versatility for a 21-year-old.
On the International Stage
Since Cannon had such a great 2018 season, the right back was called up to the US Men National Team in October for the first time in his career. Not many MLS players can say they’ve been called up to the national team, and it only makes the case to vote for Cannon that much better.
Reliability at the Back
Cannon is currently 23rd in MLS in duels won by defenders (56) this season, and he’s been a stalwart on the back line for FC Dallas. Even though he likes to make runs up the flanks in attack support, Cannon is still hard to get by at the right back position.
