FRISCO - As FC Dallas continues to build towards March 2nd's home opener, one of its biggest pieces returned to Toyota Soccer Center this week - with his trademark smile intact.
After three weeks away with the U.S. Men's National Team for January camp, Reggie Cannon is ready to hit the ground running after a breakout 2018 campaign that saw him start all but one match across all competitions.
‘’Man it’s good to be back. You know the National Team is always a great experience to learn, to grow and to develop," he said. "But I’m always excited to be back and getting those FCD cleats on and being back on the training ground.’’
Among the many changes to the club this offseason, the addition of head coach Luchi Gonzalez is, admittedly, different for the Homegrown, but a bit of deja vu after playing for the former Academy Director en route to a U-16 National Championship in 2015.
I’m really excited to see what Luchi can do and I think he’s going to take this team places that they’ve never gone before," Cannon said. "Look at the personnel and the locker room and we have a great group of guys, so I think it’s going to be a very interesting year and it’s really nostalgic to have Luchi coaching me again from the Academy days."
Cannon jumps right back into action and should be part of the lineup this Saturday as FC Dallas hosts FC Bayern Munich II at Toyota Stadium at 2 PM, followed by a friendly against San Antonio FC at 4.
