FRISCO, Texas- FC Dallas Boys U-19s will compete on Wednesday, July 10th against New York City FC U-19s for the Academy Playoff Championship.
The U-19s have had a statement performance through playoffs winning every match they’ve had so far. They went in to playoffs seeded as the number one spot and have proven why throughout this stretch of games.
FC Dallas has gone undefeated throughout playoffs this year, scoring at least 2 goals in every match they have had. Tanner Tessman, Beni Redzic, Jorge Almaguer, Joel Bustamante, Gibran Rayo, and Johan Gomez have all scored goals throughout playoffs to advance the U-19s to the finals.
New York City FC went in to playoffs ranked at the seventh seed. They have seen success in nearly every match, losing one match to the Baltimore Armour in the group stage. Since that loss, New York City FC has beat Toronto FC 5-0, drawn against Philadelphia Union 2-2, and beat Crossfire Premier and Sockers FC to secure their spot in the final.
Although their playoff record has differed, FC Dallas knows that this match will be a difficult one and will be ready to prove they deserve the trophy.
The championship match will take place at 6:30PM to determine who the academy national champions are for the 2018-2019 Season. It will be streamed on US Soccer’s Youtube page.
