FRISCO, Texas - With the help of YouTube stars Dude Perfect, FC Dallas unveiled its new Legacy kit at the MLS FORWARD 25 event in New York City on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
Let’s take a closer look at the Legacy kit which will serve as FCD’s primary jersey for the next two seasons.
Overview
The kit consists of a red top with the classic adidas three stripes emblazoned on the right shoulder. On the left sleeve lives a special MLS badge, honoring the league’s 25th anniversary. Below the AdvoCare wordmark is a variation of FCD’s iconic “hoops”, which make their return to an FC Dallas kit for the first time since 2017. Red socks and blue shorts – the same shade as the hoops on the jersey – round out FC Dallas’ Legacy kit.

The Hoops
To the delight of a section of FC Dallas fans, hoops have made a reappearance on the club’s home jersey after a two-year absence. Beginning as just a thin blue line below the AdvoCare wordmark, the hoops increase in thickness as they approach the bottom—giving it the effect of blending into the blue shorts below. If you look closely, the hoops have small striations which mimic brush strokes.
Lamar Hunt
As always, FC Dallas remembers its patriarch Lamar Hunt with an LH patch located the bottom left of the jersey. Lamar's legacy as one of the most influential figures in American soccer is especially important to remember in this 25th anniversary season.
The Shorts & Socks
The Legacy kit’s shorts consist of solid blue with the FC Dallas crest located on the bottom right side and the adidas logo on the left. They also feature a deviation on the side of each leg to facilitate movement and flexibility. FC Dallas’ home socks are red save for the three blue stripes in the middle of the shin and a white adidas logo below them.
Details
The unmistakable Texas flag is placed on the neckline of the back of the jersey, directly above the player’s name. As the only original Texas team in MLS, FC Dallas honors the Lone Star state by wearing it proudly during every game. Nine stars and the words "Founding Club" are stitched on the drop hem of the authentic jersey, commemorating Dallas as one of the league's charter teams.
