FRISCO - There’s no doubt that Friday’s 4-1 Texas Derby win in Houston was the high point of a still-young 2015 season for FC Dallas.
However, just like they didn’t let a 4-0 loss to Colorado earlier this year send them into a funk, FCD is working hard this week to ensure they don’t get too high or complacent after such a great win.
"We didn’t collapse when we had the tough moment against Colorado, the team rose again and won the next one, then tied Colorado then won the next one, so it’s the same exercise when you see it backwards,” said Oscar Pareja. “When you come from a winning game and very good performance, you have to understand it doesn’t give you anything else than that. You have to keep earning it, working hard, keeping yourself humble and seeing the season as a long journey.”

Indeed, seven points from the last three matches after two defeats goes a long way to prove this FC Dallas team has the mental fortitude and character to stay in it for the long haul.
“It’s so early and we’ve started off the way we have wanted to as a team, but we haven’t achieved what we want to achieve,” said Dan Kennedy. “So it’s important we keep our foot on the gas keep pushing forward and building momentum and in this league winning those games at home is really key so we need to make sure we are a force here.”
Up next for FC Dallas is another important home match against a Western Conference rival in the Los Angeles Galaxy and securing points in these next two home matches will be extremely important given the fact that after next Friday’s game against New York, the team will hit the road for an unprecedented five straight away matches. FCD won’t play at home again in MLS until June 26th.
“It’s very important we have to stay consistent as much as possible,” said Kellyn Acosta. “Coming into Saturday’s game, we just need to go out there and give it our all just like Houston. [We need to] take it to them as much as possible and create our chances, but also finish the chances like we did against Houston.”
