FRISCO, Texas -- Day two of Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXIV saw all 13 FC Dallas representatives in action, and the teams posted a collective record of 3-8-2 in tournament action on Monday.
The 95 Boys Premier team suffered its second straight shutout in Bracket C of the U-19 age group. The side fell to Mexico's Prepa Tec, 4-0 on Monday.
In the U-17 age group, the 96 Boys Premier team was also shut out in a narrow loss in Bracket A, falling to Northern California club Santa Clara Sporting, 1-0. The U-16 Academy team, on the other hand, came out on the winning side of a shutout for the second straight match in Bracket E after beating New York's Downtown United, 4-0. Goals by Livano Salas, Santiago Agudelo, and a brace by Alex Radilla helped FC Dallas to that win.
Of the four FCD representatives in the U-16 age group, FC Dallas El Paso pulled off the only win of the day with a 1-0 result over local side Solar Chelsea SC in Bracket D. The 97 Boys Central team fell to CZ Elite of Southern California in Bracket E by a score of 2-1. Chris Cillalobos scored the lone FC Dallas goal in that match.
The other two U-16 age group games involving FC Dallas teams both ended in 2-2 draws. Goals by Eric Davies and Bernie Zuazua secured the point for the U-15 Pre Academy team against Southern California's FC Golden State in Bracket F, and in Bracket G, the 97 Boys Blue team tied DSB Kickers United of Delaware thanks to goals by Sergio Lara and Adam Gutierrez.
In the U-15 age group, all three FC Dallas teams suffered losses to Southern California clubs. FC Dallas El Paso lost to Santa Barbara SC White in Bracket A, 3-1; the 98 Boys Premier team lost to Arsenal FC US in Bracket D, 1-0; and the U-14 Pre Academy team fell to Fullerton Rangers in Bracket E, 1-0.
FC Dallas El Paso also lost in Bracket A of the U-14 age group, falling to Tigres of Mexico, 5-1.
In the U-13 age group, the 00 Boys East team got a second straight win in Bracket B after beating Prepa Tec of Mexico, 5-1. Abelardo Escalante, Miguel Rosales and Connor Jones each scored a goal in that match, with Eddie Sanchez bagging a brace in the win. In Bracket C, the 00 Boys Premier team fell to Mexico's Club Mana, 3-1. Robert Suarez scored FCD's lone goal in that match.
Most of FCD's Dallas Cup participants will be off on Tuesday, with just four teams playing their second matches on March 26, while all 13 teams will play their final matches on Wednesday, March 27.
