The FC Dallas Academy returned to Dallas yesterday after the annual USSDA Winter Showcase in Florida with plenty of wins and plenty of experience gained as they head into the winter break.

U-18s lose close results against league leaders

The FC Dallas U-18s were handed a tough draw heading to Florida facing three teams with just a few losses this season in New York Red Bulls, Atlanta United FC and CASL Railhawks.

In the first match, Jesus Ferreira's cheeky free kick late in the match earned FC Dallas a 1-1 draw against New York in a match streamed live on Youtube.

In the second match on Friday, FCD fell 2-1 in their first-ever match against newly-rebranded Atlanta United. Midfielder and Wake Forest commit Brandon Servania tallied the goal for FCD.

FCD fell to CASL Railhawks in Sunday's finale also by a 2-1 scoreline with Brecc Evans scoring for FCD.

The U-18s return to Development Academy play in Mid-February against Texas Rush.

U-16s sweep Showcase week

The FC Dallas U-16s cruised to three victories from three matches in Florida.

Beginning the week in their first-ever match against NYCFC, Edwin Cerrillo and Jalen James found the back of the net to give Dallas a 2-0 victory.

On Saturday, they equaled that 2-0 scoreline against Crossfire Premier from Seattle. Adrian Munoz and Brayan Padilla were the FCD goalscorers in that win.

The U-16s rounded out the week with a 4-0 win over the Montreal Impact thanks to two goals from Padilla and strikes from Tanner Tessmann and Nathan Toledo.

At 11-2-0, the U-16s are currently the top national seed in the USSDA U-16 division.
