FC Dallas Academy Update: Week 19

FRISCO, Texas –  For the first time since May 2012, the Under-18 and Under-16 teams lost on the same day, dropping a pair of matches to local rivals Solar Chelsea. The Under-15's and Under-14's weren't in action as many of their players are currently in Poland on a ten-day tour while the Under-13s were the lone winners of the weekend beating Solar 2-1. 


FC Dallas U-18s: 1
Solar Chelsea: 2


The Under-18s saw their 12-game winning streak snapped with a 2-1 loss to Solar Chelsea. 


FCD and Solar traded early goals with Fernando Laverde scoring a penalty kick drawn by Bobby Edet. Coach Luchi Gonzalez said he was pleased with the way FCD kept possession despite being down a man for most of the match. 


Despite the loss, Dallas remains in first place in their division. They lead Dallas Texas by two points and have a game in hand with five games remaining in the season. 


The U-18s don't play this weekend before a huge weekend on May 11-12 featuring matches against Dallas Texans and the Colorado Rapids. 


FC Dallas U-16s: 1
Solar Chelsea: 3


The U-16s allowed three goals in a game for the first time this season, faling to Solar Chelsea 3-1. Cesar Murillo scored the lone goal for FC Dallas while Solar Chelsea sealed the win with a 40th minute goal. 


The Under-16s sit five points behind division leaders Houston Dynamo, though FC Dallas has two games in hand with five games remaining in the season. 


FC Dallas U-13s: 2
Solar Chelsea: 1


The U-13s won their second game in a row last weekend beating Solar Chelsea 2-1.  They sit in first place by seven points with three games left in the season.

All academy teams have the weekend off before a May 11 showdown with local rivals Dallas Texans that features all academy teams playing. The U-18s and U-16s have a double weekend with matches against the Colorado Rapids on Sunday, May 12 at FC Dallas Stadium.
