FC Dallas enjoyed a strong showing in the 2025 edition of the Dallas Cup, the long-running international youth soccer tournament hosted around Dallas. Six FC Dallas Youth Girls teams were crowned champions – at the U11, U12, U13, U14, U16 and U19 age levels – while the U13 and U15 Boys Academy teams brought home the trophy in their respective divisions.
FC Dallas Youth teams were particularly dominant in the Girls divisions. FCD featured in eight of the 10 division championship games across all age groups (U10 to U19), with six teams winning their divisions. Two of the championship games, U13 and U19, were contested between two FC Dallas sides. With two other FC Dallas Youth teams finishing runners-up in their age groups (in the U15 and U17 division), there were 10 total teams who reached their finals.
“I think it speaks to the quality of the program and the curriculum and the coaching staff, and then the resources that are invested in those players,” said Matt Grubb, Director of the Girls’ Academy. “We've got great players and we've got a good system here. We've got a great thing going here, you see the facilities, you see the stadium, we're playing on our home turf. We’ve got to defend that which I think the girls did a very good job of.”

The FC Dallas Academy also made its mark on the Boys side of the Dallas Cup with the U13 and U15 teams winning championships.
The U13s, coached by Phil Gomez, marched through the Group Stage of the tournament with three wins out of three and a +19 goal difference. They continued their dominance in the Knockout Rounds, beating Angeles Soccer Elite, Tulsa Soccer Club, Lonestar SC and FC Dallas ECNL on the way to the final. In the championship game on April 19, Gomez’s team defeated Bayern Nuevo Leon of Mexico 4-0 thanks to goals from Mateo Arriaga (2), Angelo Pastrán and Elliot Smith. Throughout the tournament, the U13s conceded just one goal while scoring 26 across six games.
The U15 Academy team was coached to the title by Chuy Vera. In the group stage, they defeated Tulsa SC, Global Sporting Club (Mexico) and Houston Select FC by scoring 15 goals and conceding none. Once in the knockouts, Vera’s team defeated Dallas Texans 2-1 in the quarterfinals before downing the Real Salt Lake Academy 4-0 to reach the championship game. Once there, they defeated Rebels SC in a 2-1 comeback victory despite a first-half red card. Angel Monsivais and Tamba Hallie scored in the 56th and 59th minutes to lead the U15s to victory.
“We're always excited that we get a chance to play at home with all of our Academy kids,” said Chris Hayden, FC Dallas Youth and Boys' Academy Director. “A lot of the kids have grown up watching important Dallas Cup games in the past, and of course, it means a lot to our staff. For us to be able to compete for championships in our stadium, at home, in front of our fans, it’s always a big moment.”
