FRISCO, Texas (Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016) – FC Dallas and Je-Vaughn Watson have mutually agreed to terminate the defender’s contract, the club announced today.
Watson, 32, is a veteran of 119 league matches, 78 of which came in an FC Dallas kit. The Jamaican international was acquired by FC Dallas from the Houston Dynamo on Feb. 19, 2013, in exchange for Dallas’ second-round pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. He made his FC Dallas debut on the opening day of the 2013 season. Including playoffs, Watson appeared in 27 matches for Dallas last season. His two assists came in back-to-back playoff matches.
A mainstay of the Jamaican National Team, Watson has appeared in 45 matches and has scored one goal for the Reggae Boyz. He made his international debut in a match against El Salvador played at Toyota Stadium on July 26, 2008.
