Dallas opens 25th celebratory season in MLS with two straight home matches
Frisco, TX – FC Dallas announced its full 2020 MLS regular season schedule today. Dallas will open its 25th season in MLS with a home match against the Philadelphia Union presented by AdvoCare on Saturday, February 29 at 5PM CT. The match, which was announced December 5, 2019, is the earliest date on which FCD has ever opened the MLS regular season.
FC Dallas will be home for the first two weeks of the 2020 regular season with a Saturday, March 7 matchup at Toyota Stadium against the Montreal Impact which will feature $1 beers and $1 hot dogs throughout Toyota Stadium. Following the two-match home swing to start the season, Dallas plays on the road the remainder of March against New York City FC (March 14) and in Seattle against the defending MLS Cup champion Sounders (March 21), in a rematch of a thrilling 2019 Round One MLS Cup playoff match.
Dallas returns home on Saturday, April 4 to host reigning Supporters’ Shield winners, Los Angeles FC, for its only home match of the month. FC Dallas will visit the Portland Timbers (April 11), Minnesota United FC (April 18) and Colorado Rapids (April 25).
FC Dallas is home for three matches in May with a huge Texas Derby match against the Houston Dynamo on May 16 that is presented by Toyota. Chicago Fire FC (May 2) and Sporting Kansas City (May 30) also visit Frisco during the month. Dallas travels to Nashville for the first-ever meeting against expansion team Nashville SC on Saturday, May 9 and will also visit the Vancouver Whitecaps on May 23.
June features five matches with two at home. On Wednesday, June 17, Dallas hosts the Columbus Crew in a match that will offer $1 beers and $1 hot dogs throughout Toyota Stadium. Minnesota United visits Frisco three days later on Saturday, June 20. Dallas visits
Inter Miami CF for the first time in club history on June 13 and also travels to Real Salt Lake (June 6) and FC Cincinnati (June 27).
Three of Dallas’ four matches in July are at Toyota Stadium, highlighted by the annual Independence Day match and fireworks show on Saturday, July 4 against the San Jose Earthquakes presented by CoServ. FC Dallas hosts the LA Galaxy on July 11 while former head coach Oscar Pareja returns with Orlando City SC on Saturday, July 18. Dallas opens and closes the month with road matches in D.C. (July 1) and Kansas City (July 25).
A busy August sees Dallas playing a season-high six matches, three of which are at Toyota Stadium: August 8 against Real Salt Lake, August 15 versus the Colorado Rapids and Sunday, August 23 against expansion Nashville SC. Dallas visits the New York Red Bulls (August 1), Houston (August 20) and San Jose (August 29).
Three out of FC Dallas’ four matches in September are at Toyota Stadium, with the Hall of Fame game featuring the 2019 MLS Cup champion Seattle Sounders visiting Toyota Stadium on Saturday, September 20. Dallas also hosts the Portland Timbers in a match presented by Toyota on September 5, as well as Vancouver presented by Papa John's on September 26. The lone road match in September is at LAFC (September 11).
Dallas closes the 2020 MLS regular season on the road against the LA Galaxy on Decision Day, Sunday, October 4.

2020 Schedule Notes
With expansion Inter Miami CF and Nashville SC joining Major League Soccer in 2020, there are now 26 teams in the league. As a member of the Western Conference, FC Dallas plays each conference opponent twice, once home and once away (24 total matches). Dallas plays 10 Eastern Conference opponents with five of those matches taking place on the road and five occurring at Toyota Stadium (10 total matches). FCD will not face the Eastern Conference’s Atlanta United, New England Revolution or Toronto FC in 2020.
Dallas has 28 matches on Saturday in 2020, with 13 of those matches at Toyota Stadium. Three matches will be played on Sunday (two at home). FCD has two Wednesday night matchups (one at home). The lone Thursday affair in 2020 occurs during Heineken MLS Rivalry Week in Houston as FC Dallas travels to Houston to face the Dynamo.
Prior to the start of the regular season, Dallas will play preseason matches at various locations against opponents which will be announced at a later date.
