Bonner retires to pursue career with business degree from UNC Wilmington

FRISCO, Texas (Friday, Jan. 27) – FC Dallas second-year forward Colin Bonner and midfielder Timo Pitter have both retired.

Bonner, 22, was selected in the third round (45th overall) of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. Bonner was loaned to USL-affiliate Oklahoma City Energy FC, where he scored four goals in 17 matches.

“I want to thank FC Dallas for a tremendous experience,” Bonner said. I’m proud to have been a part of such an amazing team. I have decided to move on from professional soccer in order to pursue a career using my business degree. Even though it did not last as long as I had hoped, I will cherish the memories for a lifetime. I would also like to thank my coaches, teammates and the fans for being very supportive of my decision.”
