FRISCO - Scott Dymond, FC Dallas' College Director and U-19 Premier head coach, lost a four-year battle with esophageal cancer on Thursday night.
Hired in June 2010 to create a pathway to college for FC Dallas Youth players, Dymond has helped hundreds of young players achieve their college dreams, both on and off the field. Dymond was also instrumental in the club's Chase Signing Night - an annual celebration of high school seniors signing a National Letters of Intent to play collegiate soccer.
As a coach of the U-18 and U-19 Premier teams over the last eight years, his teams have won numerous tournaments, including two Dallas Cup titles, and made multiple appearances at the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships. He was named North Texas Soccer's Coach of the Year in 2015.
Dymond was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1969. He is survived by his wife, Mary, and three children, Miranda, a junior at the University of North Texas, Allyson, a freshman at the University of Houston and John, a freshman at Prosper High School.
