DALLAS – Monday morning, FC Dallas was at the Moorland Family YMCA in South Dallas to dedicate a mini-pitch, which was made possible through the FC Dallas Foundation, MLS Works, Adidas, Southern New Hampshire University and the U.S. Soccer Foundation.
Throughout the year, the mini-pitch initiative, designed and led by MLS Works, has allowed for a safe place where kids can play soccer and grow the game in cities of all 20 MLS clubs.
The ceremony was attended by several SNHU university officials, three FC Dallas players, FC Dallas President Dan Hunt and many others, including play-by-play man Mark Followill.
In addition to the pitch dedication, SNHU also presented a full-ride scholarship to community member Leonda Kelley.
For members of the community and kids of the YMCA, the mini-pitch will serve as a place of happiness, joy and soccer for years to come, thanks to all involved.
