FRISCO – Three of FC Dallas' own were among MLS' best in an abbreviated Week 31 with Javier Morales, Jesse Gonzalez and Matt Hedges making an appearance in Team of the Week.
Javier Morales earned his spot by providing the assist for FC Dallas’ equalizer against Colorado on Saturday. In his third straight start, the Maestro sent a ball in from the corner flag, finding Atiba Harris in the edge of the six-yard box for the team’s third set piece goal this season. Out of Dallas’ 557 passes, the 37-year-old made 117 with an accuracy rate of 90 percent.
In front of goal, Jesse Gonzalez was this week’s best goalkeeper after a heroic performance. The Homegrown 'keeper made two impressive saves holding Colorado to just one goal as FC Dallas pulled a point out of the 1-1 draw to finish the week in a playoff spot.
Among this week's best defenders, MattHedges makes an appearance after a solid performance in Denver playing the full 90 minutes and adding a game-best four tackles. The reigning MLS Defender of the Year was part of an FC Dallas backline that won 49 duals over the course of the match at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
