FRISCO, Texas (Monday, April 27) – FC Dallas has loaned Homegrown midfielder Danny Garcia to its United Soccer Leagues affiliate Arizona United SC, the club announced today.
Garcia, 21, remains eligible for recall by FC Dallas at any point of the 2015 season. He has not seen time with FC Dallas this season, but did log 282 minutes in MLS last year after making his debut in a 1-0 loss to Red Bull New York on May 4. Garcia earned penalty kick for FC Dallas in that match, but was unable to convert and fell, 1-0, at Toyota Stadium.
Garcia signed with FC Dallas on June 18, 2013, just prior to the start of the 2013 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Turkey. In 2012, he earned ACC Freshman of the Year honors with the North Carolina Tar Heels after tallying four goals and six assists in 23 games.
Prior to becoming FC Dallas’ 11th Homegrown player, Garcia scored 15 goals in 29 matches with the FC Dallas Academy in the 2010-11 season, while also playing for the U.S. U-18 and U-20 National Teams. Garcia and teammate Kellyn Acosta helped the U-17/18 Academy to a title in 2012, winning the Academy Finals Week title game against Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.
