Veteran defender headed to Oklahoma City for the season

FRISCO, Texas (Friday, April 29, 2016) – FC Dallas has loaned defender Moises Hernandez to NASL side Rayo OKC in Oklahoma City for the remainder of the 2016 season, the club announced today.


Hernandez grew up in Dallas and signed his first contract with FC Dallas at age 18 in 2010. In 2012 FC Dallas loaned Hernandez to Guatemalan first division side Communicaciones. The following season he joined Deportivo Saprissa of the Costa Rican First Division. Hernandez returned to FC Dallas in 2014 under head coach Oscar Pareja and made his biggest impact, appearing in 17 matches and starting 13 for a career-best 1,116 minutes. Overall, Hernandez has played 31 MLS matches with 24 starts. A dual-citizen, Hernandez also has 14 caps with the Guatemalan National Team.

The defending regular-season Western Conference champion, FC Dallas currently tops the Major League Soccer standings with a league-best 17 points (5-2-2). FC Dallas is in New York tonight to face defending Supporters’ Shield champion New York Red Bulls at 6 p.m. CT on UniMas.
