FRISCO, Texas – FC Dallas has re-signed Alan “AlanAvi” Avila as the club’s eMLS player for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Avila will represent FC Dallas amongst the EA Sports FIFA Global Series (FGS) competitions.
“I'm super excited to be back as the eMLS pro player for FC Dallas,” Avila said. “I'm the first Homegrown eMLS player for FC Dallas. So it's an honor to be back, just representing FC Dallas to my highest potential. I'm excited to do great things.”
Avila represents FC Dallas’ tradition of signing Homegrown players, Avila played midfielder in the FC Dallas Youth program from 2010-14. The Midland, Texas native played soccer collegiately at University of Texas of the Permian Basin before tearing the ACL in his right knee, suffering his third ACL injury.
The Texas native was the first eMLS player for FC Dallas as he first signed with the club in 2018. He will also continue to represent the Frisco-based esports organization Complexity Gaming – one of the longest standing and most successful esports organizations in North America.
“I'm really excited and honored, proud to be resigning with FC Dallas for the next two seasons. I'm a Homegrown player here. I've been with the club for three seasons already. And I just want to continue doing good and prove myself right for the club. I want to put FC Dallas on the map I really do. It's my club. I'm passionate about it. And I want to make the fans proud.”
eMLS is the highest-level North American eSports league, with players representing clubs from across MLS competing in the League Series One, League Series Two and eMLS Cup tournaments.
His competitive pedigree also includes playoff appearances at the 2019 and 2021 eMLS Cup, 2021 eMLS All-Star, 2019 eChampions League Finals, and FIFA 18 Global Series in Amsterdam.
