FRISCO, Texas – For the third time this season, weather kept FC Dallas indoors, severely limiting FC Dallas Head Coach Schellas Hyndman’s opportunity to evaluate the 12 new players in camp. Today was the team’s final practice in Frisco, Texas before traveling to Corpus Christi tomorrow. FC Dallas faces the Houston Dynamo Saturday at Whataburger Field in their first action since MLS Cup 2010 in Corpus Christi, with the match scheduled to kick off at 2 p.m. CT. FCDallas.com will be streaming the game live in conjunction with the Dynamo.

Goalkeeper Training
The indoor training
did not deter FC Dallas’ goalkeeper contingent (Kevin Hartman, Chris Seitz,
Josh Lambo and Craig Hill) from punishing themselves as much as possible. Goalkeeper Coach Drew Keeshan ran the players through two rapid-fire
drills that tested the players’ hands and recovery time.
The first drill required the goalkeeper to make 12 saves, three at the left
post, three at the right post and six in the center of the goal while moving
back-and-forth across the face of the goal. Each repetition was done in less
than 30 seconds. All four players ran through the drill three times.
Keeshan’s second drill required the goalkeepers to make a standing save and a
diving save at each of four cones while working their way towards the top of
the box. The goalkeepers continued to train while FC Dallas Assistant Coach
John Ellinger broke the field players up into four teams of seven for a
keep-away drill. After 30 minutes, Hyndman directed the players towards the
west sideline for games of 7-on-7.

Games
Green downed red
in the first match of the day, thanks to a goal by trialist Sheldon Palmer. The
forward received the ball on the right flank, 15-yards from goal before hitting
a low shot to the far post.
Jackson led his blue team to victory in the second match versus red. Peri
Marosevic started the play on the left flank, cutting inside a defender and
hitting a shot just wide of the goal. The shot rebounded off the boards back to
Marosevic, who had his follow-up shot stuffed by Lambo. The rebound off of
Lambo’s body fell to the feet of Jackson, who finished easily for the 1-0 win.
The blue team remained on the field for the following match against green.
Jackson scored a pair of goals that sandwiched a strike from Bryan Leyva and
blue outlasted green, 2-1.
Palmer netted his second goal of the day for green against white. The green
team looked to have their second win of the day locked up until Alexis Pradie
tallied for white just as the final whistle blew.
The red team and blue team finished 0-0 in the last match of the day.
