FRISCO - Three FC Dallas players were called in to U.S. National Team camps on Friday for U-16 and U-19 camps, as announced by U.S. Soccer.
Homegrown forward Bryan Reynolds and U-16 Academy defender Nathan Toledo were called to the U-16 Youth National Team for an international training camp in Buenos Aires, Argentina from Feb. 3-12 by head coach Shaun Tsakiris.
“The number one objective of this camp is to get international experience,” Tsakiris said in a U.S. Soccer press release. “That’s the main objective. Then of course, we are also there to continue to evaluate and monitor the progress of players on our depth chart.”
The 21-player roster will compete in three friendlies against clubs from different neighborhoods around Buenos Aires: A.A. Argentino Juniors (La Paternal), San Lorenzo de Almagro (Boedo) and Racing Club de Avellaneda (Avellaneda).
Meanwhile, U-18 Academy defender Brandon Terwege has been called to the U-19 Men’s National Team by head coach Brad Friedel for an eight-day camp in Sunrise, Fla. from Feb. 3-10. FC Dallas Academy-product and current SMU defender Eddie Munjoma is also a part of the U-19 call-ups.
“I'm really looking forward to the camp and I think we've assembled a good, athletic squad and I will be really interested to see who does well,” Friedel said in a U.S. Soccer press release. “This camp is meant to bring in new and returning players and give them the opportunity to get into the system and have a chance at making a future U-20 roster."
The U-19s will play against El Salvador and Miami FC in the age group’s first gathering of 2017.
The three join First Team defender Walker Zimmerman (U.S. Men’s National Team) and midfielder Coy Craft (U.S. U-20 National Team) as FC Dallas players currently representing the United States at various age groups.
