The FC Dallas U-19 Academy squad came away with its first playoff loss after falling to Saint Louis FC 2-0 Wednesday afternoon. FCD had won its first playoff game against the Sacramento Republic on Monday and will now have to defeat New York City FC by four goals in order to advance to the next stage.
Dallas created a lot of chances throughout the match, but a penalty and a late second half goal sealed its fate against Saint Louis, which was too much to overcome.
FCD’s final group match will be at 3:30 p.m. PST on Friday against New York City FC. Dallas is currently in second place in its group, one game behind NYCFC, and will need to win by four goals to advance to the Knockout Round.
