FRISCO, Texas – FC Dallas unveiled today a new alternate jersey that is unprecedented in Major League Soccer history. The club will wear a sleeveless jersey during summer matches at FC Dallas Stadium.
The so-called “Century Jersey” was developed with player comfort in mind during the hot Texas summers. The design – an all black kit with white accents and lettering – is in response to fan demand for a unique, yet sharp look.
“We wanted to be bold,” said FC Dallas president and CEO Doug Quinn. “This new jersey is exactly that and will help our players stay cool during the summer. It’s the best of both worlds.”
The jersey is constructed using the most advanced moisture-wicking fabric to help keep player’s body temperatures properly regulated in the heat.
FC Dallas officials believe the club is the first in MLS to ever wear a sleeveless jersey – a notable milestone for both the league and team. MLS teams have used a sleeveless warm-up shirt during training and warm-ups, but never during a match.
The Century Jersey will be available for purchase later this season exclusively in the FC Dallas Fan Shop located on the northeast corner of FC Dallas Stadium.

April Fools, anyone?
We definitely had some of you fooled. Some people never took the bait. Others were, well, kind of concerned.
This jersey just doesn’t exist. Nor does any version of a sleeveless jersey for FC Dallas to wear during a match. Especially one that’s black. Kind of takes away the whole cooling benefits when you are wearing a solid black jersey.
Some people have convinced themselves that we’ll roll out a modified version of this jersey sometime soon or some other kind of third jersey. That’s not happening either. This fancy Century Jersey exists in pixels only.
And in our hearts, of course.
