PACHUCA - FC Dallas is out to make history, and Tuesday night, they could take one step closer.
With a full week of training in Mexico under their belt, the club will take on Pachuca in Leg Two of their Semifinal series, looking to advance to the CONCACAF Champions League Final for the first time in club history.
“We’re excited. We took a week preparing for this and we’re glad that the game is finally here,’ said Kellyn Acosta, the hero of Leg One scoring the game-winning goal. “We’re positive, we’re confident. We had a good result back home and we’re looking to close out the series here.”
Dallas brings a 2-1 aggregate lead with them into the road leg of the series, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be sitting back looking for a draw or holding on for a result.
“We know we have the advantage, but we know that if we score a goal, that’s an away goal and can be worth a lot,” Maxi Urruti said. “We’re going to play like we always do and try to win the game.”
“We’re not here to look for a tie, we’re going out there for a win,” Acosta added. “We’re going to take it to them. We’re not going to sit back, we’re going to go out there and score some goals and try to win the game.”
With a chance to continue their club-record run and a chance to be the third MLS team to make it to the CCL Final - possibly the first to win it - the players want their names associated with history
“Not only are we making team history, we’re making MLS history,” Acosta said. “We’ve worked so hard for this to prepare since last year and we’re that much closer to the Final. I know the guys are willing and we’re all positive. We’re going to go out there confident to get the result that we need.”
Leg Two between FC Dallas and Pachuca kicks off at 9 p.m. CT on Univision Deportes and Facebook Live (Facebook.com/CONCACAFcom)
