FRISCO, Texas (Monday, August 15, 2016) – FC Dallas has waived defender Agustin Jara, the club announced today.
Jara, 23, joined FC Dallas as a trialist in January and saw 170 minutes of action in back-to-back preseason wins against New England (Feb. 4) and Grand Canyon University (Feb. 6) during FC Dallas’ week-long stay in Casa Grande, Ariz. Near the end of preseason, Jara logged another 135 minutes in a second pair of victories.
The club officially signed Jara to a contract on May 16, 2016. He made his MLS debut in a 4-2 win against New England at Gillette Stadium on May 21. The outside back also saw time in a 1-1 draw with Houston on June 2 and a 1-1 draw in Colorado on July 23. Jara started two of Dallas’ four matches in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup this summer.
