FRISCO, Texas (August 15, 2022) – FC Dallas winger Alan Velasco was named to MLSsoccer.com's Team of the Week for Week 25 following Dallas' 4-1 win against the San Jose Earthquakes at Toyota Stadium on Saturday, August 13. This is Velasco's third Team of the Week appearance this season.
Velasco, 20, scored his fourth goal of the season in the 57th minute and assisted Jesús Ferreira in the third minute to help Dallas get an early lead against San Jose. He now has four goals and six assists in 21 MLS appearances (19 starts) for FC Dallas. Velasco also recorded team highs in key passes (4), shots (4), shots on target (2), duels (13), fouls drawn (2) and possessions gained (8).
Ferreira, 21, earns his fourth Team of the Week appearance this season and 11th overall since 2019. He scored his fourth-career brace in the third and 41st minutes of the match against the Earthquakes. He leads FC Dallas with a career-high 14 goals and is tied for third in the MLS Golden Boot race.
This is the 11th time this season a member of FC Dallas has earned MLS Team of the Week honors.
