Here are five names that make sense in Frisco:
1. Drew Moor - D - Toronto FC
One of the most notable names on the free agency list may be Drew Moor. Toronto FC’s center back played a big part in his team’s treble in 2017, playing 25 matches throughout the year. The 33-year-old former FC Dallas defender can add valuable experience in a much-needed area. It could be a potential homecoming for the club and the man that spent six years in Dallas.

2. A.J. DeLaGArza - D - Houston Dynamo
With FC Dallas enduring difficult season due to injuries and consequently having to play players out of their natural positions, Dallas will notably look to versatile players with the ability to adapt naturally, without the team losing much of their edge. One of those players may be DeLaGArza. The 30-year-old has been a back line foundation for the Dynamo in their return to the postseason. While the right back could not finish the season due to injury, the Maryland-native can still be a valuable asset once he’s fully recovered.
3. Brad Evans - M/D - Seattle Sounders
Evans had a rough 2017 season to say the least. The veteran has been plagued with injury since August and is now out of contract. If fully recovered, the versatile defender and midfielder can be a contributing factor for FC Dallas in 2018. With the team commencing CONCACAF Champions League in February, Dallas will need to be able to show a prowess in depth of squad and the former USMNT player can prove just that.

4. Nick Rimando - GK - Real Salt Lake
With Chris Seitz no longer with FCD, the team will look to add a replacement to compete alongside Jesse Gonzalez for that No. 1 position. A U.S. Men’s National Team veteran, Rimando would be a valuable depth choice considering a heavy run of games coming in MLS, Open Cup, and Champions League.
5. Ricardo Clark - M - Houston Dynamo
The 2010 World Cup veteran had a hand in 28 matches this year and while the midfielder is the oldest in this list (34), Clark can be that man to lift the pressure and demand from the other defensive midfielders like Acosta and Ulloa. With Dynamo declining the option to extend his contract, Clark will be available if FC Dallas decides to pick up a veteran free agent to help out in the middle of the park.
