FRISCO, Texas - The FC Dallas season is over but World Cup qualifying is still in full swing and FCD's Ricardo Pepi, Jesús Ferreira (both USA), Szabolcs Schön (Hungary) and Bryan Acosta (Honduras) are all taking part.
The US and Honduras are joined by six other countries in this final round of Concacaf World Cup qualifying where the top three finishers will automatically qualify for next year's tournament. The US sits in second place with 11 points while Honduras is in eighth with three. The nation that finishes fourth will have a chance to qualify via a two-game playoff against a country from a different confederation (continent). Concacaf World Cup Qualifying Rules
Hungary is currently in fourth place in Group I that also includes England, Albania, Poland, Andorra and San Marino. The first place finisher automatically qualifies for the 2022 World Cup and the group runner up advances to the second round of qualifying. With just 11 points from eight matches, Hungary cannot qualify automatically but can advance to the second round playoffs by finishing second.
Here’s how you can watch all the action over the next few days.
