FRISCO – Jesus Ferreira has been added to the roster for the MLS Homegrown Game presented by Energizer®, Major League Soccer announced today.
Ferreira, 17, has one goal in just 22 minutes of MLS action. The forward made his 2018 debut in a 3-1 win vs. Chicago at Toyota Stadium on July 14. He has been in the top 18 for FC Dallas in three of the Western Conference leader’s last five matches.
Homegrown Team coach Tony Annan will lead the MLS Homegrown Team against Liga MX youth champions Tigres Under 20 team at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground on Tuesday, July 31 (7 p.m. CT, UDN/Twitter). Ferreira is replacing FC Dallas defender Reggie Cannon.
The MLS Homegrown match is played annually, the day prior to the MLS All-Star Game presented by Target. The MLS All-Star team will face Italian giants Juventus this Wednesday, August 1 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta (6:30 p.m. CT, live on ESPN, UniMás, TSN and TVA Sports).
