Kellyn Acosta, Jesse Gonzalez and Maynor Figueroa Called into National Team Duty -

Acosta and Gonzalez are traveling to Leiria, Portugal, where they will play A Selecçao in a friendly at Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa at 2:45 PM CT on Tuesday, November 14. The match will be broadcast live on FS1 and UniMas.

“The one word that I would use in reference to all of this is opportunity,” USMNT coach Sarachan said. “It’s an opportunity for many players who haven’t been in the picture that we feel have a bright future with the National Team to get to measure themselves in a game against a quality opponent. It’s an opportunity for our National Team to finish out 2017 in a positive way. It’s also just an opportunity to move on. As much as we’re still gutted from how things turned out with qualifying, we have to look ahead and finish out the year the right way.”

Figueroa and Honduras will host Australia in a 2018 FIFA World Cup Intercontinental Playoff at Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula, Honduras this Friday, November 10 at 4 PM CT. Honduras travels to Australia for the second leg of the match, which will be played on Wednesday, November 15 at 3 AM CT. The winner of the two-game series will qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
