FRISCO – Kellyn Acosta is in line for his second World Cup Qualifying appearance after making his debut on Sept. 2, 2016 at St. Vincent and the Grenadines. On Friday, he and his U.S. Men's National Team teammates will be two key matches against Honduras and Panama.

In recent interview with SiriusXM FC's "Counter Attack", Kellyn said there's no need to panic. "The overall feeling of the group is we’re all confident, we’re all positive. We’ll go out there on Friday, do what we have to do and get the job done."

The transition to U.S. Men's National Team training has been an easy one, as Kellyn stressed the similarities between Oscar Pareja and Bruce Arena on the field. "Bruce likes to stress, the same with Oscar, he’s not gonna change how we play, but he just wants us to go out there and just be comfortable. Be confident. Do whatever you wanna do, but help the team as much as possible."

There's no doubt that Acosta has a bright future ahead of him, and his 2017 campaign is off to a great start. But when he thinks about his future and who he wants to model his career after, one player immediately comes to mind. "Paul Pogba. Maybe he’s not as in form as he would want to be. But when he’s at the top of his game, he’s a special player and someone I would aspire to be in the future for sure."
