FRISCO - FC Dallas hopes the fireworks aren’t just limited to the postgame celebration on July 4th as DC United comes to town. Oscar Pareja is sticking to the old “If it ain’t broke” adage with his lineup tonight.
Nearly Identical
Dallas has just one change to both the Starting XI and bench from Saturday’s win over Toronto FC as they stick to the 4-2-3-1 formation with Mauro Diaz pulling the strings in the midfield. The only change is the return of Walker Zimmerman in place of Maynor Figueroa, who left for national team duty ahead of the CONCACAF Gold Cup opening matches on Friday.
Zimmerman Returns
Walker Zimmerman returns to the FC Dallas lineup for the first time tonight since suffering an MCL strain against Houston on May 28. Originally given a timetable of 4-6 weeks, the defender returns to game action just five weeks and two days after his injury. Prior to injury, Zimmerman had started all but four league matches over the last calendar year.
Maxi Takes Washington
FCD’s leading scorer and first double-digit goal scorer since 2014 is facing one of his favorite opponents tonight looking to add to his 2017 total. In three career games against DC United, Maxi Urruti has scored in each meeting, two of which were game-winners. Dallas is 18-0-6 across all competitions when Urruti scores or assists on a goal in a game since joining the club.
