FRISCO - FC Dallas and the Houston Dynamo square off in the final Texas Derby match of 2017 with El Capitan on the line. FCD is looking for their first win in the last four weeks, and here’s the side Oscar Pareja has dressed for the midweek matchup.
4-1-4-1
As Dallas looks to get their their offensive spark back, Pareja has changed things up in the formation. Carlos Gruezo will take on the defensive midfield load as Kellyn Acosta and Roland Lamah push up in the middle of the field, with Tesho Akindele and Michael Barrios playing out on the wings and Maxi Urruti up to. It’s a similar look to what the club used on May 25 in Chicago, but with much different personnel from the 2-1 loss three months ago.
Back-Line Moves
Once again, Maynor Figueroa will return to the center back position alongside Matt Hedges, while Atiba Harris lines up on the left side and Hernan Grana in his traditional role on the right. It is the same back four that started in the 1-1- draw in Houston on June 23. Jesse Gonzalez will start in goal off of a four-save performance last week in Kansas City.
Cariaco Sighting
Just days into his FC Dallas tenure, Luis Gonzalez, better known as Cariaco (which he will wear on the back of his jersey) is in the 18-man roster for the club. The winger has looked strong in his first two training sessions with flashes of technical brilliance on the ball. Will we see his debut against Houston?
