FRISCO, Texas - Head coach Marco Ferruzzi names his Starting XI as FC Dallas takes on Los Angeles FC tonight, Oct. 20 at 7PM at Toyota Stadium. Here's the lineup notes, presented by UnitedHealthcare.
Jara for Pepi
Forward Franco Jara will lead the line for FC Dallas in place of Ricardo Pepi who picked up a minor foot injury while on international duty with the United States. Jara has recorded four goals and one assist in his 24 appearances so far this season. According to coach Ferruzzi, there's a chance Pepi will be healthy enough to feature in Dallas' next match against LA Galaxy this Saturday.
Midfield Two
Homegrowns Edwin Cerrillo and Brandon Servania start next to each other in a double pivot at the base of Dallas' midfield. Expect Cerrillo to play slightly deeper and protect FCD's backline while Servania will be expected to venture further forward and contribute to the attack. Fellow midfielder Facundo Quignon misses out tonight with a thigh injury.
Backline
Ferruzzi sticks with a back four that earned a clean sheet last time out against Minnesota United: Ryan Hollingshead at left back, Ema Twumasi at right back and the pairing of José MartÃnez and captain Matt Hedges in central defense. Both Hedges and MartÃnez have had their fair share of injury concerns this season but FCD's two-week break from action means both are fully fit to play in tonight's contest.
