FRISCO, Texas - Marco Ferruzzi names his first lineup as interim head coach as FC Dallas takes on Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BC Place tonight, Sept. 25 at 9PM. Here's the lineup notes, presented by UnitedHealthcare.
Center Backs
Ferruzzi opts for the pairing of captain Matt Hedges and Bressan in central defense. It's Bressan's first start since Aug. 22 where he suffered a shoulder injury that forced him out of four games before he made a return to the bench last weekend. It's Hedges' second consecutive start and 14th overall appearance on the year.
Acosta
Bryan Acosta starts alongside Facundo Quignon in a midfield double pivot in front of Dallas' backline. It's Acosta first start since Aug. 22 when he played 90 minutes against Houston Dynamo FC. The Honduran has made substitute appearances in the last three games, including a 45-minute outing in Dallas' last match.
Maurer
Goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer returns to the starting lineup for the first time in five games. The 32-year-old last appeared on Aug. 22 in the Texas Derby before missing a month with a thigh injury, although he was on the bench twice during that span. Backing Maurer up on the bench is Kyle Zobeck as the usual #2, Phelipe, was unable to travel to Vancouver due to a visa issue.
