LINEUP NOTES, pres. by UnitedHealthcare: FC Dallas vs. New England Revolution | 6.27.21 -

Ryan on the Wing
Ryan Hollingshead's positioning is the biggest surprise as the veteran moves from his typical fullback spot and starts at left wing for the first time this season. Hollingshead is known for his versatility and left wing is one of the positions we know is in his arsenal, having played the position in FCD's win over the Portland Timbers in last year's playoffs. Hollingshead will likely play slightly deeper than his opposite winger Jadér Obrian who typically plays on the shoulder of the last defender.

Justin Che
Seventeen-year-old Justin Che made his debut earlier this week as a right wing back against LAFC, becoming the fourth-youngest starter in FCD history. The Homegrown defender keeps his place in the starting lineup again today but will play deeper as a traditional fullback. While he's naturally a center back, Che has the technical ability and athletic tools to fill in on the flanks as well and contribute to the attack.

Johnny Nelson
Third-year defender Johnny Nelson gets the star at left back today as Hollingshead moves further up to the wing. Nelson is known for his 1v1 defensive ability and he'll need to be at his best to keep Carles Gil and the rest of New England's potent attack under wraps. It's Nelson's fourth start and seventh appearance of the season.
