FC Dallas clinches 2018 playoff spot with draw

PORTLAND - FC Dallas fights for 90+ minutes to keep a shutout against Portland Timbers Saturday night at Providence Park, earning them a spot in the 2018 Audi Playoffs.
First Half:
- 10’ – Carlos Gruezo nearly puts Dallas on top early, but misses just to the right of net from Dallas’ first corner kick of the night.
- 43’ – Portland scrambles to put the ball into the net with a collision inside the box, Santiago Mosquera was able to pick up the counter, passes to Urruti who finds Gruezo outside the box to take the shot. However, Gruezo’s shot hits the post on the bottom right to keep the score 0-0.
Second Half:
- 63’ – Diego Chara plays ball between Matt Hedges and Reto Ziegler to find Diego Valeri. Valeri dribbles into the box and fires his shot right into Gonzalez’s hands.
- 73’ – Cristian Colmán’s shot hits Jeff Attinella in the chest after gaining possession from a bad pass into the box from Larrys Mabiala.
- 88’ – Roland Lamah shoots at a difficult angle but is unable to make it into the net as he just misses to the right.
