Houston, Texas - FC Dallas nearly fought back from a two-goal deficit but falls just short and loses to Houston 2-1 in BBVA Compass Stadium.


Game Summary


First Half:


  • 12’ â€“ Memo Rodriguez sent a dangerous cross in looking for Mauro Manotas but the Colombian striker’s flicked header went over the bar. 
  • 17’ â€“ Bryan Acosta attempted a long range effort but the shot ended up a few feet wide of Joe Willis’ goal.
  • 21’ â€“ Mauro Manotas opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Carlos Gruezo fouled Alberth Elis in the box.
  • 31’ â€“ Memo Rodriguez attempted a free kick from just outside the box but his curling shot sailed over Jesse Gonzalez’s goal. 
  • 41’  â€“ Jesus Ferreira nearly capitalized when Joe Willis spilled the ball the Houston goalkeeper was able to recover.

  • 87’ â€“ Dominique Badji scored for FC Dallas with a close-range tap in from Michael Barrios’ cross to cut Houston’s lead in half late in the game. 
  • 90+7’ â€“ Santiago Mosquera appeared to level the game at 2-2 with a volley off a set piece but the goal was ruled out for offside.
