FRISCO, Texas - TheFC Dallas trio of Matt Hedges, Ryan Hollingshead and Thiago Santos have all been named to MLS's Team of the Week for their impressive contributions in Dallas' 1-0 victory over Nashville SC Wednesday night at Nissan Stadium.
As usual, Hedges anchored Dallas' defense to great effect and helped the team earn its eighth clean sheet of the season. FCD's all-time appearance leader racked up a team-high five interceptions, four clearances and two tackles en route to his second Team of the Week inclusion of the campaign.
Hollingshead stole the headlines in Nashville with his fourth game-winning goal in a row. Dallas' jack-of-all trades proved his versatility once again as he filled in left wing in place of Fafa Picault who missed out due to a minor injury concern. In addition to his goal, Hollingshead created one goal-scoring chance, won three fouls and recorded one block to earn his third Team of the Week honor (and second in three weeks) of the season.
Thiago Santos put in yet another imperious performance at the heart of Dallas' midfield. The Brazilian collected team-highs in possessions gained (12), successful tackles(4) and fouls won (4) as well as completing 83% of his 52 passes. It's Santos' third Team of the Week appearances after making the TOTW bench in Weeks 1 and 2.
