MLS released the league's top 20 players according to the Audi Player Indexand for FC Dallas fans, it's no surprise our own Mauro Diaz easily claimed the #1 spot on the list with 1768 points - more than 300 points ahead of players like New England's Kei Kamara and Kansas City's Graham Zusi.
Diaz recorded a personal-high 10 assists in 2015, but has already tallied nine assists so far this year - including two in Dallas' 4-0 romp of Orlando City on Monday and one incredible bicycle kick assist in Dallas' 2-0 win over Real Salt Lake the week before. Might we mention the season's only halfway over? Besides leading his team in assists, he also consistently ranks near the top goals, shots, and shots on goal and he's started 12 of the 14 games he's played this season. His ability to control possession of the ball and create opportunities for his teammates makes him one very valuable player - and as long as he stays healthy for the remaining half of the season, he's going to have a record year for sure.
Walker Zimmerman and Maxi Urruti were also listed as some of the league's best, coming in at #15 and #16, respectively. You can check out the full video above to see how the MLS breaks down Diaz's top plays.
