FRISCO - With the MLS regular season reaching its final week, award season is just around the corner and a number of FC Dallas players are in the running for individual accolades.
All players listed are on the short list of league-wide nominees with three finalists for each announced on Tuesday, October 31
Newcomer of the Year Award - Roland Lamah
In his first year in the MLS, the former Swansea City winger has been a regular in attack for FCD scoring nine goals, including a hat trick over Real Salt Lake back in June.
Landon Donovan Most Valuable Player Award - Michael Barrios, Maxi Urruti
Up for the most valuable player of this season, both FCD forwards Barrios and Urruti are in the running with a combined 14 goals and 19 assists for Dallas in 2017.
Allstate MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Award - Jesse Gonzalez
The USMNT prospect has had his break through year in 2017 for FC Dallas, making 28 appearances and recording 73 saves, including a single-game career-best eight saves against Atlanta back in September.
Defender of the Year Award - Maynor Figueroa
The Honduran international has been a regular in the back line for FCD this season, starting in nine clean sheets with 25 appearances this season.
MLS Comeback Player of the Year Award - Mauro Diaz
The Magician was out for the first three months of the year recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, but has bounced back into form since his return in late May.
MLS Coach of the Year Award - Oscar Pareja
Last year's MLS Coach of the Year is up for contention of the accolade for 2017.
MLS WORKS Humanitarian of the Year, presented by Advocare - Ryan Hollingshead
Earlier this year, Hollingshead risked his life to save a stranger. While assisting a stranded motorist, Hollingshead was struck by an automobile breaking three vertebrae in his neck. Fortunately, he did not sustain any career threatening injury. Hollingshead returned to the field four-months later, in a 1-1 draw against New York City FC on May 14.
