Zamudio is the club’s second signing from Liga MX this offseason
FRISCO, Texas - North Texas Soccer Club has signed goalkeeper Luis Zamudio from Liga MX side Club América, pending league and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.
Zamudio joins the club on a one-year contract with an option for the 2021 season.
Zamudio, 21, played in América’s youth academy for four years before being promoted to its first team on July 1, 2019. The goalkeeper was included in the club’s 18-man match day squad on four occasions, including the 2019 Campeones Cup game against Atlanta United FC.
“We are bringing in a talented young goalkeeper that has impressed and been part of a Liga MX first team squad, which is no small feat,” said North Texas SC General Manager Matt Denny. “To bring in a player of this caliber is something we are really excited about and going to raise the water level to help us defend last season’s title.”
