Bruce previously played under North Texas SC head coach Eric Quill at the youth level
FRISCO, Texas– North Texas Soccer Club has signed forward Alex Bruce to a one-year contract with an option for the 2021 season, pending league and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.
Bruce, 21, joined Lansing Ignite FC on loan from San Antonio FC and played 23 games (12 starts) in USL League One. He scored three goals and added two assists to help Lansing to a second-place finish in the inaugural regular season.
Prior to joining the Ignite on loan, Bruce spent the 2018 season with USL Championship side San Antonio FC. The forward scored three goals in 13 games (eight starts) en route to an 11th-place finish in the Championship’s Western Conference.
North Texas SC head coach Eric Quill worked with Bruce during their time with the youth club Texans SC Houston. Bruce and Quill won the 2017 U.S. Soccer Development Academy title together along with former FC Dallas Academy players Chris Richards and Christian Cappis.
Bruce joins North Texas SC as the club’s first new signing for the 2020 season.
