Both players join the club on loan for the 2021 season
Frisco, Texas - North Texas Soccer Club has signed defenders Juan José Parra Barrientos and Christian “Kazu” Kendji Wagatsuma Ferreira on loan for the 2021 season, pending league and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.
Parra, 19, joins North Texas on loan from Colombian first-division side Independiente Medellín where he was teammates with current FC Dallas midfielder Andrés Ricaurte. In all, Parra made three first-team appearances for the club, including one substitute appearance in the Copa Libertadores.
Ferreira, who’s known primarily by his nickname, Kazu, is a 20-year-old Brazilian-Japanese defender who joins the club on loan from Coritiba FC in Brazil’s Série A. Kazu was named in the team’s match day squad on five occasions last season and also spent time on loan with fellow Série A club Grêmio in 2019. A former Brazilian youth international, Kazu has featured three times for his country’s U-17 side, including playing 85 minutes in Brazil’s 2-0 victory over Argentina in the 2017 South American Championship.
