Viniegra joins the club from Brazilian side Cruzeiro Esporte Clube

Frisco, Texas - North Texas Soccer Club has signed forward Alejandro Santana Viniegra, pending league and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.


Viniegra, 18, joins North Texas SC from Brazilian second division side Cruzeiro Esporte Clube on a one-year contract with an option for the 2022 season.  


Viniegra played primarily with Cruzeiro’s U-20 team but made his senior professional debut in Brazil’s Série A during the 2018 season. Viniegra holds both Mexican and Brazilian citizenship and represented Brazil at the U-16 level in 2017 before accepting a call-up to Mexico’s U-20 squad in November of 2020.


“We are delighted to bring in such a talented player that will be an integral part of our team as we build for the 2021 season,” said North Texas SC General Manager Matt Denny. “This is an exciting young player that our fans are going to love to watch.”
