FRISCO - Oscar Pareja is now the winningest coach in the modern era of FC Dallas.
His side's 3-0 win over Seattle Sounders FC on Sunday afternoon earned his 63rd 'W' at the helm, surpassing his predecessor Schellas Hyndman for second on the club's all-time wins list behind only original Dallas Burn head coach Dave Dir, who has 81 wins to his name.
"This is a collective victory," Pareja said after the match. "That fact of the wins with the club, it belongs to all of us. I say it humbly because it is the reality, I am happy and proud to belong and make this club better and better."
Head Coach | Wins | Losses | Draws | Win % |
---|---|---|---|---|
Dave Dir | 81 | 75 | 4 | .518 |
Oscar Pareja | 63 | 40 | 35 | .583 |
Schellas Hyndman | 62 | 59 | 58 | .508 |
Colin Clarke | 41 | 39 | 20 | .510 |
The ever-selfless Pareja had many people to thank for this milestone, and even more who he said have helped him along the way to share it with.
"First, the players because they are the ones who play the games and the fans also have been supporting us in the good and the bad, in the moments we need them the most they are there. To this coaching staff that has joined me in this project, they are working day in, day out trying to make things happen. My family, people who all work here in the office, all you guys."
It was No. 63, but there are many more to come for Papi in Frisco.
