FC Dallas ends the month of August on the road against Texas rivalry Austin FC on August 29

Houston, TX (August 21, 2021) – FC Dallas (5-9-7, 22 points) and Houston Dynamo (3-8-10, 19 points) battled to a 2-2 draw in the second leg of the Texas Derby Saturday night at BBVA Stadium. 

Game Summary

First Half:

  • 25’ – GOAL (HOU) – Houston’s Fafa Picault converted from the penalty following a foul inside the box to give Houston a 1-0 lead. 
  • 41’ – SHOT (DAL) – Bryan Acosta attempted a shot from 35 yards out, but Houston’s Marko Marić made the diving save.

Second Half

  • 54 – GOAL (DAL) – Nkosi Tafari scored the equalizer for FC Dallas from a rebound from Marić after he blocked a shot following a corner.
  • 58 – GOAL (DAL) – Ricardo Pepi gave FC Dallas a 2-1 lead after Jesús Ferreira intercepted a goal kick from Marić and found Pepi who slotted a right-footed shot past Houston’s defense.
  • 72’ – GOAL (HOU) – Houston’s Matías Vera levels the match with a right-footed shot from outside the box. 
  • 75’ – SHOT (DAL) – Jáder Obrian fired a shot from outside the box but Marić was quick to make a save.
  • 84’ – SAVE (DAL) – Jimmy Maurer denied a shot from Ariel Lassiter to keep the game 2-2.

88’ – SHOT (DAL) – Jesús Ferreira fired a volley from outside the box but Marić pushed it over the crossbar.
